About Gathered Olea
Hi, I'm Kimberley, a stay-at-home mum, maker, and creative living on a lifestyle block in rural Canterbury, surrounded by olive trees and a very enthusiastic toddler.
I have a background in Fine Arts Photography, and a lifelong habit of making things with my hands. For a while that part of me went quiet, life got full and the creating slipped away. Gathered Olea is how I got it back.
Everything I make starts with a real person in mind. Someone who needs something to keep their hands busy. Someone who wants to make something beautiful with their child. Someone who sees a patch and thinks — yes, that's me. I make things that earn their place in your everyday life, not sit forgotten in a drawer.
When I'm not sewing, stitching or printing, you'll find me chasing my toddler, or planning the next thing I want to make.
Where the name comes from
Gathered Olea is named after the olive grove surrounding our home where the trees have stood long before we arrived, and where we've put down roots of our own. Olea. Gathered. It felt right.
